Reiki is a Divine Energy that heals the mind, body, and spirit from mental and physical ailments that could be limiting your journey. We are all made of energy and everything around us is made of energy. So Reiki harnesses and uses that energy to improve the energy flow through your body.
Rita Homsi is a Reiki practitioner who helps people through this process. You can learn more about Rita and her work here:

Everything is energy and we are energy entities connected to each other.
Reiki found me in 2018 and this is where my journey in healing with energy started. I am a Reiki Master, a Nature lover, a yogi since 2006 (currently completing my teacher training), an Ayurveda believer and practitioner, an energy healer and an Aromatherapist practitioner (essential oils user and promoter)
I have been an Access Consciousness practitioner since 2015. I am a lawyer practicing in Lebanon. I conduct healing circles to spread all the knowledge I gained through all these years, as knowledge is meant to be shared and spread, so it can be useful and enlightens knowledge seekers.
I created an online global healing circle for Lebanon in May 2021, where we meet every Thursday to connect to people in need of support and to bring wellness to All. We discuss subjects related to physical, mental and emotional health, guided by the wisdom of my Guru. It is open to all seekers of wellbeing and wellness. We are all One. Together we thrive, together we rise. You are welcome to join if this resonates with you.
What made you want to get into this field?
My curiosity in learning, I guess, and the chance to have great gurus in my life. I love Nature. Reiki and yoga are my life. My Indian Guru inspired me a lot and opened lots of windows for me. He introduced me to the great ancient science “Ayurveda”, and this is where I went into studying this beautiful ancient science, which is the base of all science. It opened my eyes to so many things in life. It taught me that my life on this planet has a meaning and a purpose.
I experienced Yoga Nidra in one of the retreats I attended in India. Then I started my journey in energy to discover that Energy is all that is! Yoga played a major role in my life. It helped me to discover my body and treat it with respect, as it is my temple. I discovered that I have healing energy in my body and all the great yoga teachers I learned from inspired me and helped me to connect to the right people who work in the energy healing field. I experienced Reiki in a beautiful session with my Reiki Master who enlightened my path with so much wisdom and knowledge.
I knew that I was on the right track and only in 2018 my journey in healing started. In December 2020 I became a Reiki Master, helping people in need to be the masters of their own lives and assisting them in their healing journey.
We all have healing energy in us, we only need to be attuned to it and develop it.
What has been your favorite aspect of this work?
My favorite aspect is working with this beautiful divine energy called “Reiki” which helps you evolve and mature in life. It is so rewarding to experience the power of self-healing when working with Reiki. This divine energy is in every one of us if we choose to get attuned to it. We can heal ourselves with the power of our mind and Reiki.
And the most beautiful and rewarding thing is to see my clients improving and healing after their Reiki sessions. Their beautiful messages warm my heart and assure me how powerful Reiki is, once we are open to receive it.
I love helping people and seeing them improving, evolving and mastering their lives again. I am here to help and assist them in my healing work and sessions.
Can you explain what Reiki is and what a typical session is like from start to finish?
Reiki is the Universal Life Force Energy, the Energy of LOVE. It is a Japanese healing modality practiced on humans and animals. It can be practiced hands-on or via distant healing. It is a Divine Energy that heals the body, mind and spirit from pain, traumas and removes all blockages in the body for the energy to flow freely again all over the body.
A Reiki session usually takes 2 hours, between talking, assisting and healing. I work on the person’s body, front and back, while he/she is lying down on the massage table. I scan all the body’s 7 chakras and open them all to remove all blockages, pain and diseases.
Feedback of the session is sent afterwards to my client to help understand the process and the way to healing. A follow up is sent the next day to see their improvement. I am always available for guidance and assistance when needed.
What sort of health challenges can Reiki be effective for and why?
Working with Reiki made me realize that everything starts with an intention. Then it becomes a thought that is attached to an emotion, and this emotion manifests in our body as a dis-ease if it is a heavy emotion not being released, or as a nice feeling if it is a positive emotion that creates ease and harmony in the body.
“Where Awareness goes, Energy flows” Dandapani.
Reiki helps ease the heavy emotions in our bodies and connects us to the divine self. It can heal our body, spirit and mind from all that is not serving our highest good. It aligns us with the Universal life force again, so we can stay balanced and in harmony within ourselves and with all the people around us.
Reiki is the loving energy of the Divine. It heals deeply where it goes and elevates its seeker to attend a blissful state of contentment and happiness when practiced in our daily life.
Is there a technique in your practice that you have found to be the most beneficial to the people you work with?
Through all the modalities I learned and the practices I did, I came up with my own personal technique that I find very helpful to the people I work with. Each Reiki master develops his/her own way of practice that suits the person who comes for a Reiki session, so it can be beneficial to the need of that person seeking healing and comfort. The good feedback from the persons I work with confirms the effectiveness of my technique.
Being attentive to the person who comes for a Reiki session and delivering what is proper to him/her makes the session fruitful and beneficial, trusting that Reiki will know where to go and what to heal. Reiki always guides me and inspires my work in energy healing.
What is a Reiki session like from the patient’s point of view?
A Reiki session will be a deep healing session that rejuvenates the whole body and opens all blockages, letting the energy flow all over the body. When the energy flows freely, the person will feel lighter, relieved and will start his/her healing journey, layer by layer, to reach a harmonious happy life and be more aware of his/her own energy, taking responsibility for his/her own actions, thoughts and emotions.
What the person coming for a Reiki session needs to do is to be open to receive this beautiful energy of Reiki and to be willing to start the healing process in order to take responsibility for his/her own life.
What would you say to someone skeptical about Reiki and its effectiveness? How do you approach that?
I face a lot of skeptical people about Reiki in my life, especially in my healing circles. Reiki is always effective when we are open to receive it. To make this beautiful energy palpable, I conduct an experiment in the water in front of the people to show them how energy works and how it affects our daily life. This demonstration on water helps people relate better to Reiki and its effect on us. It makes us aware of the existence of energy around us and in us. It opens our eyes to the importance of taking care of our own energy and the energy surrounding us.
Besides Reiki do you have any universal health and well-being tips that you’d like to share?
Yes of course, the more we learn the more we evolve in life.
As I said before, Ayurveda, the Science of life, helped me a lot in my life. It opened my eyes to so many things in my daily life to implement and practice. We are connected to Nature. Our body, like every living and non-living matter, is made up of these basic 5 elements, the Pancha Bhoota as per Ayurveda, are Fire, Air, Space, Earth and Water. 60 to 70% of our body is made of water. Be aware of the water you are drinking. Use glass and not plastic bottles, Reiki the water you drink to heal and bless your body, your temple.
Practice Yoga regularly to maintain and gain a healthy body, for the energy to flow freely and in harmony. Practice Meditation daily to keep a focused healthy mind. It is the food to your soul, your connection to the divine.
We came on this planet for a purpose to fulfil, not only to eat sleep and work. We give meaning to our life.
If there was one piece of advice you could give to someone who is struggling, what would it be?
Everything starts within us and ends with us.
Be aware of your thoughts, emotions and actions. If you want love, you need to love yourself first. If you want to change, be the change you want to see in the world, as Gandhi said.
The more you are aware of your actions and thoughts, the more you get to know yourself and your weaknesses, the better you evolve in life. We struggle because we have the urge to control situations and people. We cannot control the future nor people. We manage our own life to be able to live our present moment fully.
My advice will be to stop controlling others and start managing our life in the best way possible, as everything starts within us and ends with us. Our struggle will end the moment we bring our attention to ourselves and live the present moment fully with all the awareness possible, without thinking of the future moment. It will come according to our devotion and full awareness of the present moment. Take care of your own energy. Surround yourself with people who uplift you and make you evolve in life. Be aware with whom you are sharing your energy.
