About Melanin and her work:
I began my career in Laughology in February 2018 when I created How Holistically HEALarious on Instagram. Back then I was calling myself a Holistic, Spiritual Comedian. In the spring of 2018, I discovered laughter yoga and shortly afterward I got certified as a basic laugh yoga teacher. With several viral videos of the HEALarious Edutainment going around the world HolisticallyHEALarious was beginning to come to a household name. Teaching laughter yoga classes throughout the US, while performing stand-up comedy.
I’ve naturally been an entertainer & a humorist since early childhood. I’ve always made people laugh so being entertained was something I always wanted to do when I grew up.
Helping individuals cultivate joy through laughter [has been my favorite aspect of this work]. Seeing the laugh-changing transformation in people’s lives. Knowing that I was able to help individuals add more laughter to their daily routine has been the best reward for my services.
About Laughology:
Laughology is a unique approach to communication, development, and thinking that uses the psychology of humor and happiness as a foundation. Depending upon the type of online session… The basics are pretty much the same. The HEALarious session would consist of: Greeting laughter, and getting to know my client, followed by some warm-up laughter/ breathing exercises, then laughter yoga, HEALarious sound therapy & laughter meditation. Some discussion at the end of Q & A.

What it’s beneficial for:
Oh wow so many; you know they say laughter is the best medicine. Laughter yoga is great for mental health care. Laughter helps to alleviate depression and anxiety. Laughter is even the best medicine for stress. Laughter yoga helps you to lower the stress chemical cortisol in your body. Laughter is really great for cancer patients as well helping to create antibodies to help fight off infection.
Laughing yoga is basically the best medicine for your mental health and your overall well-being.
Adding more laughter to your daily routine creates a better quality of life filled with more joyful experiences. It even helps with spiritual work in regards to maintaining your unique higher vibration. Helping you to access your internal pharmacy pulling from your body’s natural feel-good hormones creating happiness from within.
Some do have a hard time intentionally laughing for what seems to be no reason. This is when I utilize my HEALarious healing modality Laughastè Out Loud. The goal of the game is to pull a card and act out the laugh on the card. Playing this game helps clients to relax, loosen up and laugh more freely.
[Laughology from the patient’s point of view is] a breath of fresh air, a new way of healing and releasing trauma with laughter.
If you’re skeptical about Laughology:
I’ve learned to hold space and don’t force anyone to do anything they don’t feel comfortable doing. However, I just encourage people to try something new and to remember that we’ve always been told that laughter is the best medicine but we have yet to be told how to use it as such.
Melanin’s universal well-being tips:
Get in nature, hug a tree, walk barefoot, and get as much sunlight as you can. Music – listen to solfeggio Hertz. Eat good = mood good.
Don’t give up and laugh more especially on the days you don’t feel like it. It only seems extremely challenging right now because you’re right in the middle of it. And just know that you came too far to go back, or to give up so keep going and give thanks that you have already made it to the other side.
